Wi-Fi mode
Asks the operating system how the joined Wi-Fi network is encrypted: open, WEP, WPA/WPA2/WPA3 personal, enterprise or OWE. It reads what the OS reports and sends nothing.
What it finds
- A joined network that is open, so nothing on it is encrypted by the Wi-Fi itself
- A joined network using WEP, an old mode that can be broken in minutes
What it cannot find
- Whether anyone else on this network knows the password, which at a hotel is every guest
- A fake network with the same name as the real one
- What happens to your traffic after it leaves the router
- The mode of any network this device is not joined to
